Whitney Beach
(1 vote)
In northern Longboat Key, Whitney Beach offers a serene experience. Although erosion has eaten up the vastness of the shore, the exclusive beach is perfect for a romantic date and peaceful slumber. The beach is secluded behind a wooded entrance and blocked from public view by residential properties. Beachgoers are a mix of college students, teenagers and families with young children. There are no restrooms and no activities. A short drive away, on the west side of Broadway, there are two restaurants, Moore's Stone Crab and Mar Vista Dockside & Restaurant Pub. Public parking is limited to two tiny lots and along Broadway and Firehouse Road in a residential neighborhood. Don't park illegally, because the police do ticket.
